Israel warns of BiBi wiper attacks targeting Linux and Windows
Cybersecurity researchers have discovered an uptick in data-wiping attacks on Israeli computers, likely linked to an Iranian-backed threat group. The attacks utilise variants of the BiBi malware, which destroys data on Linux and Windows systems. The malware targets all file types and overwrites files, making data irrecoverable. Israel’s CERT agency has published an alert with identifiers that can help organisations spot or prevent these cyberattacks.
