July ransomware attacks slam public sector organizations

Public sector entities, including county governments and a state health department, were among the top targets of notable ransomware attacks in July 2021. The Jefferson County, Kansas was affected by a disruption of CrowdStrike outage, allowing the threat actors to steal data. Meanwhile, private sector organisations were not immune to these attacks, with Bassett Furniture disclosing a cyberattack. RansomHub, a ransomware gang, was responsible for 11% of all attacks published in July.
