June 2023 Healthcare Data Breach Report

Healthcare data breaches have reduced by 12% MoM according to data from the Office for Civil Rights (OCR). A total of 66 breaches were reported in June 2023, down from 73 in the previous month but surpassing the 12-month average of 58. Even so, over 5 million healthcare records were breached in June, just below the 12-month average of 6 million. The most severe breach occurred at Enzo Clinical Labs due to a ransomware attack, exposing 2.47 million files.
