Kaiser executive offers security tips

At the HIMSS11 conference, Kaiser Permanente’s director of medical informatics, Eric Liederman, advised attendees to challenge conventional assumptions about privacy and security. He provided examples and techniques for developing effective privacy and security protection programs, including using reports to quickly identify innocent or guilty individuals and encrypting laptops and USB drives. Liederman also emphasized the importance of proactively investigating violations in audit trails.
