Kaspersky reveals ‘elegant’ malware resembling NSA code

Kaspersky researchers have exposed a sinister exploit of cryptocurrency miner code which it believes has echoes of malware created by the National Security Agency (NSA). Dubbed StripedFly, the malware can perform tasks such as recording audio, stealing Wi-Fi network information, and retrieving website usernames. It can also send out screenshots and sensitive data files. The code uses EternalBlue, a piece of malware that got into the public domain in 2016, and is suspected of coming from the US.
