Kaspersky uncovers code-ready malware StripedFly

Kaspersky’s cybersecurity experts have discovered a complex malware, StripedFly, previously mistaken for a simple cryptocurrency miner. Operating since 2017, the malware carries out cryptocurrency mining, potential ransomware activities, and espionage. It has harvested sensitive data from over a million victims globally. The initial vector of infection was through the EternalBlue exploit, despite a patch released by Microsoft in 2017.
