KMA Director Promises Thorough Inspection with NIS of Chinese-Made Equipment’s Malware

Yoo Hee-dong, the director of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), has apologised following the discovery of malicious code within Chinese-made meteorological equipment. Yoo assured the National Assembly audit the problem would be addressed, beginning from proposal submissions in the future. The code was discovered in completed units and is now set to be examined by the National Intelligence Service (NIS). An additional two units are set to be installed in South Jeolla Province.
