The UpGuard Cyber Risk Team has revealed that a misconfiguration of an Amazon AWS S3 bucket exposed sensitive data related to the Los Angeles County 211 service, a non-profit organization that “provides information and referrals for health and human services” in LA county. The downloadable files unavailable until 24 April contain credentials needed to access the 211 system, email addresses, detailed notes of calls, and personally identifiable details of those linked to the call. In several cases, names, addresses, phone numbers and in 33,000 cases social security numbers were also revealed.
