Lawmakers question resuming VA Oracle EHR rollout at subcommittee hearing

Concerns have been raised about the resumption of Oracle’s electronic health record (EHR) deployment at Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities due to lingering technical and resource issues. Only six VA facilities have deployed the new EHR so far. Lawmakers noted that extra resources thrown at the recent deployment at a joint VA and Department of Defense facility may not be replicable in future rollouts at other VA locations.
