Lisa J. Pino named new Director of HHS Office for Civil Rights

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services has appointed Lisa J. Pino as Director of the Office for Civil Rights. Pino will be responsible for enforcing healthcare civil rights laws, including HIPAA regulations and patient safety laws. She has previous experience in senior roles at the New York Department of Health and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The Office for Civil Rights has recently focused on enforcing the HIPAA Right of Access rule.
