LockBit behind 1 in 6 U.S. gov’t ransomware attacks in 2022

Around 16% of ransomware attacks on the US government in 2022 can be linked to a single group, LockBit, which has ties to Russia. The group’s activities were examined by cybersecurity agencies globally, which highlighted its frequency and tactics, including the use of affiliates for breaching organizations. The group has amassed around $91 million from US victims since its first recorded attack in January 2020.
