Log4j attacks: All you need to know about new-found software flaw

A significant flaw has been discovered in Log4j, a Java-based logging library created by Apache Software Foundation and widely used by software developers. The vulnerability, dubbed “CVE-2021-44228,” is now being actively exploited by hackers who are scanning the internet for systems to hijack. More than 3.7 million hacking attempts exploiting the vulnerability have been reported. The extensive use of Log4j across multiple platforms could see potentially catastrophic consequences if successful attacks occur on any of the roughly 30% of global web servers at risk.
