Log4j vulnerability opened the door to the ransomware operators

The Log4j (Log4Shell) vulnerability in Apache software is likely to lead to an increase in ransomware attacks, as cybercriminals use it to gain illicit network access. This has resulted in heightened activity from ransomware operators and access brokers. The ransomware gang Conti has reportedly exploited the Log4j flaw. Despite response efforts from security teams, the risk of ransomware attacks remains high due to widespread vulnerability. There are no public reports of successful ransomware breaches exploiting the Log4j vulnerability to-date.
