Log4j vulnerability: What to know

The vulnerability in Log4j, a Java-based software, potentially impacts a third of all web servers globally, including those used by tech giants such as Twitter, Amazon, and Microsoft. Dubbed “the most serious flaw” by the head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, more than 3.7 million hacking attempts have been made to exploit it. Patches have been released, but experts warn it will require long-term monitoring to determine if the vulnerability has been successfully hacked.
