London hospitals cancel operations and appointments after being hit in ransomware attack

Several London hospitals, including King’s College and Guy’s and St Thomas’ trust, have had to cancel operations and turn patients away after a ransomware attack on Synnovis, a supplier of pathology laboratory services. The NHS confirmed the attack had a “significant impact” on services, especially blood transfusions. The National Cyber Security Centre and a cyber operations team are investigating.
