Losing Face: Two More Cases of Third-Party Facebook App Data Exposure

Two Facebook app datasets developed by third parties have been found to have exposed user information to the internet. A Mexico-based company called Cultura Colectiva was responsible for one set of the data, which contained more than 540 million records. Another set was from a Facebook app called “At the Pool”, which closed in 2014, but left unprotected the passwords for 22,000 users. The data had been stored on Amazon S3 buckets configured to allow public downloads.
