Lurie Children’s has resumed e-mail communications

Lurie Children’s Hospital, part of Northwestern University, has resumed most email and phone line services after a cyber attack forced its shutdown. The hospital fell victim to a “known criminal threat actor” on January 31. In response, the hospital went offline in an effort to protect patient and organizational data. Despite the resumption of services, some pediatricians are diverting patients due to ongoing communication issues. The hospital acknowledges the complexities and time needed to resolve such incidents.
