Machine learning uncovers potent immunomodulators for vaccines and immunotherapy

Researchers at the University of Chicago used machine learning to sift through small molecules, known as immunomodulators, to boost vaccine and cancer immunotherapy effectiveness. They singled out one molecule capable of surpassing the top-performing immunomodulators on the market, improving immunity activity and reducing inflammation. The machine learning process involves active learning and continuous modelling, leading to multiple iterations.
