MAeHC CEO: In case of breach, ‘don’t panic’

Micky Tripathi, President and CEO of Massachusetts eHealth Collaborative, shared his experience and advice on handling a data breach during the HIMSS and Healthcare IT News Privacy & Security Forum. He emphasized the importance of involving the business department in assessing the breach and recommended appointing a dedicated senior level person to lead IT. Tripathi also stressed the need for organizations to maintain a chronological record of daily activities and to regularly communicate with contractors and vendors regarding data security.
