Major cyber attack halts non-emergency operations at London hospitals

A major cyber attack on two key London hospital trusts has led to the cancellation of all non-emergency operations and blood tests. The ransomware has disrupted pathology systems at Kings College Hospital Foundation Trust and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals Foundation Trusts, affecting GP services across South London. Transplants have been particularly impacted because blood tests cannot be cross-checked. Resolving the situation could take weeks or months.
