Major cyberattack sees NHS London hospitals declare critical incident with operations cancelled

A cyberattack has forced two London hospital trusts to suspend all non-emergency operations and blood tests, and GPs told to cancel all non-emergency pathology appointments. The malware attack targeted Synnovis, a company that supplies blood tests, swabs, bowel tests and other services across six London boroughs. The supplier, which provides pathology services King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals, says it could take weeks or months to resolve the issue. The incident has been reported to the National Cyber Security Centre.
