Major outages at CrowdStrike, Microsoft leave the world with BSODs and confusion

Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike and Microsoft are being blamed for what’s being described as “the largest IT outage in history” after updates caused widespread system crashes. Affecting various sectors, from banking to 911 call centers, multiple services were down. CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz stated that it wasn’t a cyberattack, merely an isolated issue. Though the companies are working to resolve the problem, attributing the blame remains complicated due to the fact that the outages were all on the Windows platform.
