Malaysian state Kedah eyes HIS migration to cloud

A malfunction of the Total Hospital Information System (tHIS) in the Malaysian state of Kedah forced healthcare workers to use manual systems for over a day. The issue, caused by a server glitch, affected public hospitals and health facilities across the state, disrupting services for 3,000 patients, impacting patient registration, access to medical records, and causing treatment delays. The Kedah State Health Department has activated its business continuity plan and is considering migrating tHIS to a cloud-based server.
