Malicious web application attacks climb 88%

The number of malicious web application attacks increased by 88% between 2020 and 2021, twice the growth rate of distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, according to Radware’s 2021-2022 Global Threat Analysis Report. The report also noted a rise in ransom denial-of-service (RDoS) attacks and an 80% increase in “micro flood” attacks. The findings highlight increased professionalism and discipline among cybercriminals, who are adapting their tactics as more businesses migrate to the cloud.
