Malicious Web Application Transactions Skyrocket 500%

A report by cybersecurity firm Radware has noted a significant shift in DDoS attack patterns from layers 3 and 4 to layer 7, focusing on compromising online applications, APIs, and essential infrastructure. The report highlights a 500% increase in malicious web transactions compared to the first half of 2022, a surge in DNS query floods, and escalating hacktivist offensives. India, the US, and Israel were the most targeted geographies. Government, business/economy, and travel websites faced the most attacks.
