Malware targeting video came users discovered by researchers

ReasonLabs has uncovered a new malware scam that affects individuals downloading torrented versions of popular video games. The malware, which hijacks sensitive personal and financial information by targeting users’ cashback activities, arrives via a dummy VPN installer tool that poses as a reputable extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. The extensions install additional malware undetected, disabling existing user cashback and cybersecurity extensions.
