Mandiant’s Twitter Account Restored After Six-Hour Crypto Scam Hack

Cybersecurity firm Mandiant’s Twitter account was compromised by an unknown attacker to propagate a cryptocurrency scam. The hacked account was renamed to impersonate a crypto wallet service and advertised a scam urging users to click a bogus link. Mandiant, a Google Cloud subsidiary, has regained control over the account. Cybercriminals are reportedly hijacking verified Twitter accounts and selling them on the dark web for up to $2,000.
