Many online pharmacies selling weight loss products illegally: Study

Research published in JAMA Network Open revealed that 42.27% of online pharmacies selling semaglutide, a weight-loss drug, were doing so illegally. The study found that vendors were shipping unregistered and counterfeited medicines, which carry consumer health risks. The World Health Organization had previously warned of fake versions of the medication. The rise of illegal sales could be linked to factors like unaffordable pricing, lack of insurance coverage, and the reluctance of some doctors to prescribe the drug.
