March 2023 Healthcare Data Breach Report

In March 2023, there was a 46.51% increase from February in healthcare data breaches, with 63 breaches of 500 or more records reported. There were also a 15.62% month-to-month increase in breached records, totaling over six million records. Most breaches were hacking or IT incidents, and breaches often involved the use of website tracking code. Data breaches were reported in 25 U.S. states.
