MediSecure data breach following ransomware attack affects millions of patients

The attack occurred in April 2023 and affected data from 2019 to 2023, but MediSecure said it was unable to identify individual victims. The stolen data included names, addresses, phone numbers, healthcare identifiers, and prescription instructions. The company has successfully restored its system using a backup and has involved cybersecurity experts in its investigation.
