Meta has not done enough to safeguard children, whistleblower says | Meta
Former senior engineer and consultant at Meta, Arturo Béjar, has claimed that the company has not made necessary improvements in child safety following Molly Russell’s inquest. Béjar’s research shows that 8.4% of 13-to-15-year-olds on Instagram saw harmful content in the past week. Furthermore, Béjar alleges Meta already has the infrastructure and tools to prevent harmful content from being found by young users, but has chosen not to implement changes. He calls for goals around reducing harmful content and simplified reporting processes for unwanted and harmful content.
