Microsoft to kill off VBScript in Windows to block malware delivery
Microsoft has announced that it will phase out VBScript, a programming language used for over 30 years, making it an optional feature before its complete removal. This move follows Microsoft’s decision to end support for Internet Explorer and is part of a strategy to reduce malware attacks that exploit Windows and Office features. The deprecation of VBScript could also mitigate the spread of malware such as Lokibot and DarkGate.
