Microsoft Warns of Malvertising Scheme Spreading CACTUS Ransomware
Microsoft has alerted users about another series of CACTUS ransomware attacks, which use malvertising components to trigger initial DanaBot infections. The campaign appears to be using a private version of info-stealing malware, with the exploited credentials being transmitted to a server controlled by the actors. This news follows other recent incidents of CACTUS ransomware attacks and the discovery of a new macOS ransomware strain called Turtle.
