Minnesota ransomware attack shows the right way to handle breach response
Minnesota-based Associates in Psychiatry and Psychology (APP) is notifying 6,546 patients that their data may have been breached in a ransomware attack in March. The hackers disabled the system restore function and reformatted the network storage device where local backups were kept. However, there is no evidence that any data was viewed or copied. APP has been transparent about the breach, providing details to patients about the nature of the incident and how they managed the data and breach response.
