Mirai DDoS malware variant expands targets with 13 router exploits

The IZ1H9 malware botnet has added 13 new payloads to attack Linux-based routers from brands like D-Link, Zyxel, and TP-Link. Researchers from Fortinet found peak exploitation in the first week of September. IZ1H9 compromises devices to add them to its DDoS swarm and launches attacks presumably on behalf of paying clients. The malware uses exploits for flaws dating from 2015 to 2023.
