Mixed-sex breaches hit a record low
The number of UK patients residing in mixed-sex accommodation has declined by 90% since December 2010, says the Health Secretary, with zero breaches and 115 Acute Trusts reporting no gender mixed accommodation. The government, aiming to eliminate gender mixed accommodations, now insists that new or refurbished NHS hospitals consider allocating at least 50% of spaces to single, en-suite rooms.
