More appointments and procedures delayed in aftermath of NHS cyber attack

A ransomware attack by Russian cyber gang Qilin on pathology services provider Synnovis caused disruption at several London hospitals, forcing 1,300 outpatient appointments and 205 elective procedures to be postponed. Data stolen in the attack, including patient names, NHS numbers and descriptions of blood tests, were published online. NHS England confirmed there was no evidence an entire database had been published, but added it may take weeks to identify those affected.
