More than 14 million people have been affected by TN healthcare data breaches

The Thanksgiving ransomware attack on Nashville-based Ardent Health Services, which affected 30 hospitals across six states, was one of ten data breaches in Tennessee this year. The increasing value of protected health information on the dark web has led to these cybercrimes, often conducted by foreign criminals in Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran. The ensuing costs for hospitals and victims can be respectively in the tens of millions of dollars and significant personal financial loss.
