More than 200 ‘life-saving’ operations cancelled by NHS hospitals after cyberattack

Over 200 emergency and life-saving operations have been cancelled at London’s NHS hospitals due to a major cyberattack on pathology services supplier, Synnovis. The ransomware attack, believed to be carried out by Russian cybercrime group Qilin, has resulted in major disruption potentially lasting months. Synnovis provides pathology services to several hospitals and is critical to a range of treatments, including blood transfusions, which are currently experiencing a national shortage.
