More than 600,000 people told to isolate by NHS Covid-19 app
More than 618,903 people in England and Wales were alerted to self-isolate by the NHS Covid-19 app from 8-15 July, a 17% increase from the previous week. This has led to serious shortages in staffing across various businesses. The app advises those in close contact with a Covid-19 positive case to self-isolate. However, there have been calls for this rule to be delayed beyond 16 August for fully vaccinated individuals.
