More than 9,000 fines for coronavirus lockdown breaches in England and Wales

Over 9,000 fines have been issued in England and Wales for violations of Covid-19 lockdown rules, according to new data. The figures also indicate anti-social behaviour has risen by 100% to 215,000 incidents in the month until 27 April, compared to the same period in 2019. The largest number of fines were issued by Thames Valley Police, with 649, while Warwickshire Police gave out the fewest, at 22.
