‘My heart surgery was cancelled due to the NHS cyber attack
An 81-year-old heart patient’s life-saving operation was cancelled due to a major cyber attack on London NHS hospitals. The ransomware attack led to over 200 emergency procedures being cancelled earlier this month. Russell Ashley-Smith requires complex open heart surgery without which he may only have up to two years to live. Mr Ashley-Smith requires two heart valve replacements and a coronary artery bypass.
