‘My son’s appointments were cancelled due to the NHS cyber attack

A Russian ransomware group has leaked sensitive patient details online following their cyber attack on NHS trusts. The Qilin gang targeted Synnovis, who run NHS blood testing databases and published patient names, birth dates and test descriptions. This data breach led to many serious appointments and operations, including cancer treatments and transplants, being cancelled. Qilin is now demanding £40m in ransom money. The attacked NHS trusts, including King’s Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, have postponed over 1,134 operations and 2,194 outpatient appointments.
