Nashville man arrested for running “laptop farm” to get jobs for North Koreans
A Nashville man was arrested for running a scheme where he allowed North Koreans to work remotely on laptops at his residences, deceiving US companies into hiring them under the stolen identity of a US citizen. The individuals primarily worked in IT and their income was used to fund North Korea’s weapons program. The man has been charged with wire fraud, intentional damage to protected computers, aggravated identity theft, and conspiracy to cause unlawful employment of aliens.
