Nationwide blood drive launched to help hospitals at centre of cyber attack

Russian cyber criminals have attacked several major London hospitals, forcing the cancellation of numerous operations and compromising the institutions’ blood testing services. The Qilin gang targeted pathology firm Synnovis, which has resulted in the hospitals’ inability to carry out routine blood tests. A nationwide blood drive has been launched to encourage type O donors, whose blood may be given to most patients, to come forward and donate.
