Nationwide blood drive launched to help hospitals at centre of cyber attack

Russian cyber criminals have compromised several London hospitals including King’s and the Royal Brompton, through a ransomware attack that targeted the pathology firm Synnovis. The incident has affected blood testing services and forced the cancellation of operations. NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) has launched an appeal for type O blood donors and called for more donations “over the coming weeks” to keep services running.
