Nationwide blood drive launched to help hospitals at centre of cyber attack
Health leaders have initiated an emergency blood drive across England after Russian cyber criminals hacked major London hospitals. The ransomware attack by the Qilin gang has disrupted blood testing services, causing operations and blood tests to be cancelled. NHS centres around England are working to boost blood stocks, particularly of type O blood which can be used for the majority of patients. Donors are being urged to make appointments in one of the 25 NHS Blood Donor Centres.
