Nearly 57K Michigan Medicine patients notified after data breach

Michigan Medicine has notified almost 57,000 patients about a data breach due to a cyberattack on its employee email accounts. The incident happened on 23 and 29 May, when three email accounts were hacked. Although no specific data theft intent has been identified, patient health information exposure cannot be ruled out. Potentially at risk are patient names, medical records, addresses, birth dates, diagnostic and treatment data, and health insurance information.
