Nebraska Supreme Court upholds law banning transgender care for youth and abortions

The Nebraska Supreme Court has affirmed a state law banning gender-affirming care for minors and abortions after 12 weeks of pregnancy. The legislation was challenged by Planned Parenthood, arguing that the bill violated the constitutional requirement for bills to stick to a single subject. However, the court ruled the law was broadly concerned with “regulation of permissible medical care”. The issues may be put to a public vote in November.
