New cancer patients check EHRs twice as often

Access to online medical records is critical for those diagnosed with cancer, according to a new report by the US Health and Human Services. From 2020 to 2022, 80% of individuals with a recent cancer diagnosis were offered access to their online medical records, representing a 38% increase from 2017-2018. Frequent access to online records can result in more patient-centered communication and foster active participation in treatment decisions.
